SOUTH COAST HOOPS

We deliver youth basketball programs and competitions across the South Coast of New South Wales, with an equal focus on developing basketball and developing people. Led by a team of expert coaches, we blend contemporary coaching principles with our a unique 7-point player development framework to fast-track development while maximizing fun and enjoyment.

OUR PROGRAMS

In Term 4 2025, South Coast Hoops will offer four amazing programs to support your child’s development regardless of their age or experience.

For children aged 3-5 we offer MiNi-HOOPS
For children in K-Year 1 beginning their basketball journeys we offer Aussie Hoops
For children who have graduated from Aussie Hoops, or are already comfortable with ball sports we have GameTime
For current and aspiring representative players, we have Rep Skills

 

MiNi-HOOPS

MiNi-Hoops is the perfect start for children taking their first basketball steps. Through fun games and playful activities, our Mini-Hoopers develop essential motor skills learning the ABC’s of physical literacy (Agility, Balance, and Coordination) whilst also gaining confidence with basic ball skills as we safely introduce catching, dribbling, and shooting on our specially designed MiNi-Hoops.

Batemans Bay: Tuesday 8.15am-8.50am.  Tuesday 9.00am-9.35am.  Tuesday 1.15pm-1.50pm.

MiNi-Hoops Term 4 2024

AUSSIE HOOPS

Aussie Hoops is our introductory Learn to Play program, designed to nurture the next generation of basketball players. Using a games for understanding approach, kids learn skills and basic principles of play through fun and engaging games tailored to support development. After the 7 week program, participants are encouraged to graduate to our comeptitions.

$140 for new participants (includes singlet and ball).  $100 for returning players (no pack).

Term 4 programs:
Batemans Bay:  Kinder – Year 4 Tuesday 4pm-4.50pm.
Moruya: Kinder – Year 4, Monday 4pm-4.50pm.
Narooma: K-4 Thursday 4pm-4.50pm.

GAME TIME

 

Through a blend of individual skill development, offensive and defensive principles of play, and 3×3 and 5v5 scrimmage-based games, Game Time helps players get game ready.  It’s perfect for those getting ready to transition into competitions, or for players wanting to get more out of their games.

Rep Skills

Rep Skills is for current and aspiring U14-U18 representative players focused on learning advanced skills and principles of play.

Rep Skills focuses on:

  • Advanced dribble moves and footwork patterns.
  • Creative layups.
  • Scenario specific dribble movements and coverage solutions.
  • Conceptual based motion offense.
  • Individual lockdown defense techniques.

Rep Skills runs Saturdays 8.30am-9.30am based on Coach Matt’s NSW State and camp commitments.  To be added to the Rep Skills contact group, shoot us a message here

ABOUT COACH MATT

Matt Neason brings over 30 years coaching experience across a broad range of high-performance and Learn 2 Play coaching roles.  Having studied Sport Coaching & Administration at University, Matt is well placed to support athletes from complete beginners to those with WNBA and NBA aspirations in developing the tools that will support their success on and off the court.
